A Simple Valentine’s Day

Good morning, and HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!! 🙂

Don’t worry, I’m not going to be all mushy gushy lovey dovey today (how many rhymes can I make??) just because it’s Valentine’s Day. Chad and I decided that we weren’t really going to do anything this year. We even decided to nix getting each other Valentines cards. We felt like it was just a waste of $2 when we could just tell each other “I love you!”

BUT, Chad did have one thing up his sleeve. This morning when I woke up, I walked out of the bedroom and saw this…

I followed the sign to find this…

Chad thought that since we decided not to get cards this year, he would gather all of the old cards that he’d given me in the past years and give them to me again. I thought it was pretty cute, and now I’m glad that I kept all of those old cards! 🙂 Thanks Chad! I love you! 🙂

I followed up this lovely surprise with a trip to the gym to do Day 1 Week 2 of the Couch to 5K program. I thought about running outside since it’s not as cold this morning, but it rained last night and I didn’t want to take the chance of me slipping on the wet ground. I guarantee it would’ve happened.
This weeks runs are a lot like last week, with a little more run time than walk time. I’m excited to keep going with this!

When I got home, oatmeal was calling my name!! Another bowl of my favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal!

And now I’m sipping on my 2nd cup of coffee. We actually ran out yesterday, so Chad brought some from his office at church for us to use. It’s from Honduras and is so good! I love trying new coffees!

Plans for today are a little out of the ordinary. I’m going with a group of 2nd graders on a field trip to sing for our local Kiwanis Club meeting and to a nursing home. We worked on some love-themed songs in music last week and plan on singing them today to show our appreciation to the community. Afterwards, I’ll still have opera rehearsal where we’ll continue working on staging Act 1. It’s so fun seeing this opera come to life! I’m ready for our performance in April! 🙂

I’m not sure if Chad and I are really doing anything tonight for Valentine’s Day or not, but if not, dinner will probably be something I can whip up really quick.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day, whether you’re “doing it big” with your significant other, or just keeping it simple with the people you love. Either way, be sure to spread a little extra love today! 🙂

Thanks for reading! 🙂
